Historic Playing Cards
Playing cards feature early Cody people, homes, businesses and local history -- illustrative of the Museum's six areas of focus:
-- Early town founders
This is Agnes Chamberlin, who together with her husband, built and ran the Chamberlin Inn, donated land for the Cody Airport, and Agnes started other worthy ventures such as the Cody Music Club
-- Oil & Gas & Railroads
Here we have Olive and Glenn Nielson, partners in life and in Husky Oil Company
-- Early Cody businesses
An early "madame" from Cody's past -- Cassie Waters, after whom Cassie's Supper Club is named
This is the Buffalo Bill Dam -- through the harnessing of the waters of the Shoshone River, agriculture became a reality for this end of Park County
These are the first cars to carry tourists into Yellowstone Park through the East Gate
-- Early Historic Families
Here we see, Left, Ned & Mary Frost and their firstborn, Chew Frost, and her sister and husband, Margaret and Fred Richard. Ned & Fred ran an outfitting business, starting as early as 1900.
